Wheel Addict
YouTube intro titles

An immersive title animation for Ricardo Lino’s YouTube channel, blending family, skating and the Wheeladdict universe into one seamless ride.

Client: Wheel Addict     Studio: BigRods     Role: Creative/Art/Animation Direction - 3D Modeling/Rigging/Animation

With the growth of his family and business, Ricardo Lino aka the WHEELADDICT approached me to create a new title animation for his Youtube channel. Ricardo wanted to showcase all his family members along with his new skatepark/office.

As his Wheeladdict brand gained more notoriety in the skating industry we established to work with the Wheeladdict colors. I created the idea of the viewer getting inside the WHEELL ADDICT shop/skatepark and seeing Ricardo in action practicing what he loves best, traveling through a sea of packages and meeting his wife and business partner, Janice, we would then meet Ricardo in a dance act with his wife and through his mobile phone, we would get introduced to his whole family in the final package shot.

Five characters brought to life: Ricardo, his wife, their two daughters — plus Alex the helper, who got a quiet edit-room exit.

Modeled, textured, and animated in Cinema 4D, rendered in Redshift, with ZBrush adding extra details — including Deco, the dog. Here’s a peek at the WIP.

I used Cinema 4D cartoon rig for the two main character rigs as it gave me more control on streching limbs and to animate facial expressions

For the final look I composited a redshift render with a C4D sketch and toon outline render
